Pinocchio

starring Park Shin Hye as Choi In Ha, Noh Jung Ui as Choi In Ha (young), Lee Jong Suk as Choi Dal Po / Ki Ha Myung, Nam Da Reum as Choi Dal Po / Ki Ha Myung (young), Kim Young Kwang as Seo Bum Jo, Lee Yoo Bi as Yoon Yoo Rae.

When Ho Sang’s body is initially missing in a factory explosion, cold and calculating MSC reporter Song Cha Ok (Jin Kyung) alleges that Ho Sang survived and is currently in hiding because he was responsible for the deaths of his men (in order to gain more rating). I really feel sorry for the Ki family when they become outcasts in their neighborhood and objects of national scorn when they did not even do anything wrong. I am amazed at how Song Cha Ok manipulates the news including how she squat down to emphasise the severity of the flood which is supposed to only be knee-deep. It is even more surprising to find out that Song Cha Ok (under a superior’s order) manages to divert the anger of the public to Ho Sang and his family just by using news without real solid evidence.

It is a waste that such an intelligent person like Ki Jae Myung (Yoon Kyun Sang) ruins his future because of revenge. I agree with my sister that in this case I would be ironically happy that there is no death sentence for a murderer if not Jae Myung would be dead for killing 3 people. It is cool that Ha Myung read most/all of the books in the library while acting that he is stupid. It must be difficult to get zero for every test when he knows all the answers. I would set reading all the books in a library as my life-long goal. I liked how Ha Myung do things differently from Song Cha Ok even though he tries to take revenge. For example, he proves Song Cha Ok’s innocence instead of just being blinded by revenge.

Park Shin Hye acted as a Pinocchio very well, hiccuping very naturally. I would find it very hard to live life as a Pinocchio. Imagine that even hiding a truth will cost me sleepless nights of hiccups… Haha. Liked how the plot goes back to the start by making Ha Myung and In Ha’s friend the victim to the same thing that happened to Ha Myung’s family. Perhaps if news really affect me in real life (not negatively though) I may be more interested in them…Haha. I feel sorry for Bum Jo. Although his mother does it for him to lead a life in luxury, he has to face the sad truth of his mother’s bad deeds. It was funny when Yoo Rae keeps thinking that Ha Myung likes her just because of Bum Jo’s lies.
