starring Lee Jong Suk as Park Soo Ha and Lee Bo Young as Jang Hye Sung.
Kim So Hyun as Jang Hye Sung (young)
Goo Seung Hyun as Soo Ha (child)
Yoon Sang Hyun as Cha Kwan Woo
Lee Da Hee as Seo Do Yeon
Jung Min Ah as Do Yeon (young)
Jung Woong In as Min Joon Gook

Plot: Park Soo Ha played by Lee Jongsuk is a character to look forward to. He can read people’s mind due to a car accident which is useful at the same time cruel to him. Some treats him as a monster. To make things worse, the murderer actually uses Soo Ha’s ability to his advantage and is constantly finding chance to hurt them after he is released from jail. As Hye Sung bravely stood up as a witness when he was young and helped catch the murderer of Soo Ha’s father, Soo Ha is grateful and promised her that he will protect her from the killer when he is released from jail in the future. He will help Hye Sung become a good public defender and has an overly enthusiastic public defender, Kwan Woo, as a love rival.

Zoom into characters: Soo Ha is a high school boy who searches high and low for Hye Sung who he wants to protect and finally finds her. However, she is not what he thinks she is. She has become a sloppy, petty and irresponsible public defender and defend the defendants for the sake of defending them. Hye Sung does not believe in the defendants and only work with evidence. Soo Ha who can read the defendants’ mind helps her change and win cases. Hye Sung becomes dependent on Soo Ha until Soo Ha gets into trouble and she has to stand up on her own feet to prove Soo Ha’s innocence. Do Yeon is a prosecutor who is Hye Sung’s friend+enemy and is actually adopted into a rich family after her adoptive father made a grave mistake as the judge for her father’s case. Although once a police officer, Kwan Woo makes a capable and enthusiastic public defender who believes completely in the defendants and has to learn a painful lesson when his defendant, Joon Gook, (after killing Hye Sung’s mother) lied to him which led to his acquittal.

A lawyer/public defender should not trust a defendant completely (what Kwan Woo did), yet cannot assume what the defendant said is a lie due to evidence just aiming to make the sentence lighter (what Hye Sung did). People will leave a person who did bad things yet do not repent (Do Yeon’s adoptive father). Once a person murders someone, even if the person is the victim, he will turn into a murderer. It is not worth having a crime record for revenge. I would not want to hear people’s thoughts. Ignorance is indeed a blessing at times. Thoughts may not be always good and may be unintentional when one is angry. It would be bad if people are hurt by these unintentional thoughts. The evil guy, Joon Gook, in this drama keeps it going too. While he tries to harm them many times to seek revenge, their relationship improves. I feel a bit sorry for the evil guy as he lost his mother, wife and child. However, he should have treasured his remaining loved ones when he can and not let hatred blind his eyes.

Why you should watch: Another drama that I “chased”(watched faster than it can be produced). Watching this due to the attractive plot: reading people’s minds. There are many twists (trust me) and learning points in this drama. The plot is good and different due to the fantasy part. There are many different crime cases involved while Soo Ha is helping Hye Sung. It is interesting to see how the lawyers defend for each case. The child actors are very good and set the foundation of the story. Lee Jong Suk and Lee Bo Young acted well and the overly enthusiastic lawyer acted by Yoon Sang Hyun added liveliness to the drama. Lee Jong Suk’s character in this drama is amazing! You will not regret watching!
