If you collect the energy from a person shouting for 8 years, you can brew 1 cup of coffee. (haha)
Faith is like a pump that fills bicycle’s tyres with air. If the air is full, it will end up running like the wind.
You cannot grow dreams, you just want to do it.

To stay alive, you need to repay the world with as much hard work as it took you for it.
In this world, there are a lot of things we can’t do anything about.

Good Doctor (2013) 良医
Genre: Medical, Romance
Enjoyment: 9/10 Pace: 9/10 No. of times I watched it: 1
starring Joo Won as Park Shi On and Moon Chae Won as Cha Yoon Seo.
Plot: An interesting and touching drama about an autistic child whose dream was to be a pedeatrician (treats children). As Shi On can see the internal body of a person in 3D, he can easily find the fault in the child’s body and thus has a medical talent. His talent was spotted by a doctor who nurtured him and recommend him to a hospital. At first, everyone thinks that he is a robot without his own thinking. However, after a while they learnt a lot from him and he also grew to become a better person who can socialise with others.
Zoom into characters: Shi On is an autistic person who grew up being bullied by other children and abused by his own father. He later loses his brother who is the only one that gives him mental support and his mother who has no choice but to abandon him. He always dream to become a pedeatrician and has a medical talent. He causes much trouble in the hospital at 1st as he is unable to adjust to the rules and regulations. Yoon Seo is a pedeatrician who graduated with good grade and does what she thinks is right. As both do what they think is right in a different way, they will realise their goals as a pedeatrician is actually similar.
Patients should be cared for with a heart, not just a mind on how to make money. Doctors have to be flexible and think about the best for the patients. When one asks the question of how to become a good doctor, it shows that the person is actually a good doctor. Doctors are not religious men. They have to be rational and are not supposed to give a patient false hope or guarantee. How I wish I have Shi On’s brain! He can memorise everything he read before and combine all the information to help him find out the cause.
The most touching case to me is a child singer called Kim Gyu Hyun(ep8-9). He is good at high voice but gets throat infection which may hinder his singing career and make him unable to join the Germany prestigious choir which his mother is determined to help him achieve. After he goes for surgery, he may not be able to sing high notes anymore which he has been doing before he even starts talking. Actually, his dream was not to join the prestigious choir but to sing to those that really need his songs. His dreams are dashed and his mother is just trying to postpone the surgery until they reach Germany, ignoring his agony. Children do have their own thoughts which sometimes parents who only think for their children’s future may neglect.
Why you should watch: Joo Won acted as an autistic doctor very well. There are many different cases of children involved and I enjoyed watching it. The amazing part is his medical talent that he has despite his weakness. I especially enjoyed the 1st episode of this drama. If you cannot decide whether to watch, just watch the 1st episode and you will be able to decide.
