My Only Love Song(2017)
Cast: Lee Jong Hyun as On Dal, Gong Seung Yun as Sang Soo Jung, Lee Jae Jin as Byun Sam Yong, Kim Yeon Seo as Princess Pyunggang, Ahn Bo Hyun as Moo Myung
My Own Review:
I watched this drama too long ago and went to re-watch the first few episodes but I cannot really seem to find the actual feeling I had previously. So I will just write what I remembered I felt in this drama and my current feeling of this drama.
When I first watched this drama, I remembered I laughed a lot as Sang Soo Jung was quite funny. Examples of scenes that are funny are when she scolded the cast, when she did a flying kick on the actress who was going to marry her boyfriend and when she thought that the historical period that she was in was an acting scene e.t.c. Although she is quite noisy, I do not feel that she was irritating as I feel that this is how the character is supposed to be. Gong Seung Yun did well in portraying Sang Soo Jung’s character.
One thing I liked about the drama is the historical drama car, boong boong. In the historical time period, the car only operates when On Dal is in the car. The car helped Sang Soo Jung and other people in the car to escape from danger and make On Dal and Princess Pyunggang meet. I feel that this car is quite meaningful and helpful at times and that is why I wrote about it.
Another thing I liked about the drama is Princess Pyunggang’s and Moo Myung’s communication method. Moo Myung does not talk at all in real life but he talks a lot in his brain. Only Princess Pyunggang knows what he is talking about. I wonder is this telepathy or something but I really liked how they could communicate in such a special way.

Mask (2015) 假面
Genre: Mystery, Romance, Melodrama
Enjoyment: 9/10 Pace: 9/10 No. of times I watched it: 2
starring Soo Ae as Byun Ji Sook / Eun Ha, Joo Ji Hoon as Choi Min Woo, Jun Jin Seo as Min Woo (young), Yun Jung Hoon as Min Suk Hoon, Yoo In Young as Choi Mi Yun
Liked the chemistry between the lead couple a lot! Enjoyed how they often repeat lines said by each other to show their care and concern and how cheesy they are at times. The relationship is extremely romantic as the drama progresses haha. I have a soft spot for dramas that involve marriage before there is real love. As I am someone who treasures relationships between family members, I just like dramas that try to work out love of the couple by letting them be family members first which is the case for this drama. It is fun to watch Min Woo slowly falling in love with Ji Sook, acting and saying things that he usually would not, like initiating to sing the birthday song for her and giving many excuses for not buying another bed or saying comically that he is emotional at night.
The scene that he carries her to the bed and his look when she wraps her arm around him is just perfect. Haha. Their divorce counselling is quite engaging. I liked how the twist is put in place with Ji Sook finally stepping up for Min Woo instead of continuing to follow Suk Hoon’s plan. Soo Ae acted the contrast in the character very well from weak and defenseless to being able to see through Suk Hoon’s plan, giving him a shocking retaliation. Liked the last episode but Min Woo and Ji Sook’s child does not look like them…haha.
Impressed by Suk Hoon who is such a good liar that is not even the least affected when he tell lies. This makes him such a powerful villain who can easily manipulate others even at the times that his lies are almost being detected or exposed. He does succeed in trying to ruin the family in a way. However, he also throws away his own happiness as a result. He could have lived a fulfilling life with Eun Ha whom he loves instead of using her as part of his revenge. It is a pity that Eun Ha passes away because of that. I feel sorry for Mi Yun who only yearns for Suk Hoon’s love. Her struggle in the drama to be happy and loved made her departure more heartfelt. Although I dislike her for indirectly leading to a few deaths, I liked how her character adds depth to the drama as she struggles to choose between protecting Suk Hoon and her half-brother, Min Woo.

Falling for innocence (2015) 為純情著迷
Genre: Romance, Comedy, Fantasy, Mystery
Enjoyment: 9/10 Pace: 8/10 No. of times I watched it: 1
starring Jung Kyung Ho as Kang Min Ho, Lee Tae Woo as Kang Min Ho (young), Kim So Yun as Kim Soon Jung, Jung Da Bin as Kim Soon Jung (young), Yoon Hyun Min as Joon Hee, Jin Goo as Ma Dong Wook (Soon Jung`s fiance), Choi Soo Han as Ma Dong Wook (young).
I enjoyed watching how Min Ho starts to change and is exasperated when he does something he normally does not do. Especially liked the scene when Soon Jung hurts her hand and tears start falling off Min Ho’s eyes out of his control and he wonders why he is like that. It is funny when Min Ho uses Dong Wook’s tricks while trying to catch a criminal and shows off his new gained martial arts skills. Loved how Jung Kyung Ho lightens the mood of the drama with his humour added keeping me entertained throughout. Liked how Soon Jung is portrayed as a capable and smart secretary who does her best to help any boss she is working for and thinks on the boss’s behalf.
Liked Min Ho’s interaction with his secretary who takes care of him and is concerned about his health. Thankfully Jung Kyung Ho’s hairstyle changed haha. I found the company politics kind of boring but its effect on me is being shrank by the chemistry of the lead couple. I admit that the ending is a bit absurd even though it is not a sad ending. The fantasy part of the drama is what keeps me going as it makes me curious to what may happen next which is so unlike Min Ho. I guess this situation won’t happen in real life haha. Imagine behaving like someone else after a heart transplant…I am glad that Soon Jung realises the difference in the way her two boyfriends actually are and she is not liking Min Ho because he resembles Dong Wook.
It is sad that Dong Wook’s father has to send off his son so suddenly and his son’s death is actually caused by his son’s best friend, Joon Hee. It is fun to watch how Dong Wook’s father treats Min Ho like his son due to the similarity between the two even though he detests Min Ho at first . It is even more sad when Joon Hee’s father chooses death to cover up his son’s crime. Although Joon Hee seems to be working hard towards gaining more, he is actually losing more, especially the relationship with his poor father whom he could have treasured.

Girl who can see smells (2015) 看見味道的少女
Genre: Romance, Comedy, Fantasy, Crime
Enjoyment: 9/10 Pace: 10/10 No. of times I watched it: 1
starring Park Yoochun as Choi Moo Gak, Shin Se kyung as Choi Eun Sul / Oh Cho Rim, Nam Goong Min as Kwon Jae Hee and Yoon Jin Seo as Yum Mi.
Really liked the fantasy part of this drama, how the smell can be traced to find things or people and how the scents can help in the identification of people and what they have done. It is funny that Moo Gak is good at doing comedy (haha) while Cho Rim can get to the bottom of crimes quickly and they are doing the job of what the other person is good at. Because of his sister’s death, Moo Gak without his sense of taste gobbles lots of food to fill up his empty heart. It is a pity that the sister has to die because of her name but it is needed in order for Moo Gak to be a police and meet Cho Rim.
It is fun watching Moo Gak regain his sense of touch. For example, he suddenly feels itchy at his nose or jerks because of his wound after a kiss. It must be tough living without the sense of taste and touch. Imagine not withdrawing my hand from the fire because I can’t feel and not being able to taste the delicious food… Liked the marriage proposal by Moo Gak when he writes words using perfume sprayed in the dark sky. It is simply romantic and unique for Cho Rim who can see scents. Wonder how the words last since the particles from the perfume would have diffused quickly haha.
The pace is really good in this drama. Everything just flows well and it is quick to know who is the murderer. The serial murderer (shall not give spoiler) is acted out very well and really gives people the fear, especially since he seems so kind. I even thought that Doctor Chun was the serial murderer but he ends up being the victim. Haha. The serial murderer even has a hidden room in his house to keep the captives. The serial killer’s face-blindness disease does help Cho Rim escape death a few times since he cannot recognise anyone unless they speak.
The police seems to be doing some work in this drama haha, especially Lieutenant Yeom and Moo Gak. It is dangerous yet brilliant that Lieutenant Yeom disguises as Cho Rim and acts as bait to find out the place the serial murderer hides the victims. It was cool when she turns around and shows herself to the murderer much to his horror and shock for catching the wrong person. Towards the end, I think the police becomes so reliant on Cho Rim’s ability that they can’t even solve crimes without the couple and even prevent them from going for honeymoon… The police, especially the chief, was so arrogant at the start when Moo Gak begged to join their team and after that he is depending so much on Moo Gak to save his own reputation.
