Coffee house (2010) 咖啡馆
Genre: Writing, Comedy, Romance
Enjoyment: 9/10 Pace: 8/10 No. of times I watched it: 1
starring Kang Ji Hwan as Lee Jin Soo, Park Si Yeon as Seo Eun Young and Ham Eun Jung as Kang Seung Yeon.
Jin Soo is one of the weirdest characters I have ever seen so far. He sharpens all his pencils by knife until a certain sharpness before he is satisfied. Besides that, he brews coffee like a master. There is a certain time of the year that his ears will become oversensitive and he can hear voices from far away, making it difficult for him to sleep. When he is bored or stressed, he will start playing dominoes. He often escapes from events prepared by Eun Young at the last minute or disappears for a period of time without contact. His character is always contradicting and he is quick to lie. Despite him being a writer, he actually studied in a medical school. The most funny torture given to Seung Yeon to me is Seung Yeon hula-hooping while trying to pick up a phone on the ground/ table.
I was fooled by the name of the drama. I thought that it will be focusing on coffee but it is not really about that. The coffee house is just owned by the publishing company. Haha. I wanted Seung Yeon to end up with Jin Soo as she is more of the one who changes him. Although she thinks things too simply, she can easily cooperate with Jin Soo and change Jin Soo’s mood. The only reason that may make me change my mind is that Eun Young knows more about Jin Soo since she is his long-time friend.

God of study (2010)学习之神
Genre: High School, Comedy, Romance
Enjoyment: 9/10 Pace: 9/10 No. of times I watched it: 1
Plot: When scrappy and abrasive lawyer Kang Suk-ho (Kim So Roo) is put in charge of the liquidating Byung Moon High School, he sees his own troubled past in the problematic students who live their lives with no dreams. He then offers to teach them and proclaims that he will get five students accepted into Cheonha University, the most prestigious college in the country. Quirky and earnest English teacher Han Soo-jung (Bae Doo Na) , who believes that the purpose of education is not about getting into a good college, likewise initially objects to Suk-ho’s teaching methods and motivations. Everyone calls Suk-ho crazy while the director cannot wait to sell off the school (if I am not wrong). What will become of the fate of the school and the five students?
The five students acted very well, portraying each of their stories. Hwang Baek-hyun’s (Yoo Seung-ho) parents died and he lives with his grandmother in a shabby house. He was a bad student who fights a lot but after he studied in the special class he slowly reached his goal. Na Hyun-jung (Park Ji Yeon) is left alone in a big house after her parents divorced and only come to think that she is precious too nearing the end of the drama. Gil Pul-ip (Go Ah-sung) doesn’t have a father and had problems with her mother who opens a bar and loves a married man. Hong Chan-doo (Lee Hyun-woo) moves whenever there is music and loves dancing but his rich father wants him to study abroad. Oh Bong-goo (Lee Chan-ho) grew up in a meat restaurant. His parents don’t really care about his education. The actual reason that he joined the special class was to get rid of the bullying because of his appearance but realised that he actually forgotten his promise of being a vet when his pet died. This drama really emphasises the importance of doing well in examinations. 100 marks all the time! Haha.

Princess Prosecutor (2010) 检察官公主
Genre: Mystery, Romance, Comedy
Enjoyment: 10/10 Pace: 10/10 No. of times I watched it: 3
starring Kim So Yeon as Ma Hye Ri and Park Shi Hoo as Seo In Woo.
Plot: Ma Hye Ri is a woman with an excellent memory and ability to focus, which allowed her to pass the bar exam with ease. Despite her talents, she is more interested in being fashionable and dislikes hard work, so she is far from being an ideal prosecutor and has doubts about her suitability for her job. Through her conflicts with senior colleagues and struggles with difficult cases, however, Hye Ri gradually matures into a brilliant prosecutor with a sense of duty and justice. In Woo is a mysterious person who plans well and secretly helps Hye Ri along the way…
What In Woo did not foresee is that he will fall in love with Hye Ri. Things become more complicated after that and he even wants to give up his revenge plan that he has been planning for many years. The way he looks out for her, even helping her when she is in trouble is done so well that Hye Ri does not realise he has an ulterior motive. He seems like a superhero to her and his heart drop when she confesses to him. I am surprised that his plans actually worked even though there are many different factors that may affect the success of the plan. It is real people he is dealing with. There are many funny scenes such as Hye Ri paying him back in cash once, thinking that it will be difficult to count all the money but In Woo even brought a money counter to count the cash.
Hye Ri changed a lot from the start to the end. At first, she acts like a princess, goes home on time and does not take her work seriously. It is true that there are such things as working hours but it should depend on whether the person has finished her job. There are always Overtime even when studying. Her character is very amusing to watch and it is fun seeing how she matures and grows.
The most interesting part is In Woo disguising himself as different people when meeting people who can serve as witnesses as they know who the murderer is. Instead of taking revenge on the people who lied as witnesses, he helps them and sincerely wants them to prove his father’s innocence. Taking revenge is not always the solution to everything. I heard that after watching this drama, one will become Park Shi Hoo’s fan and it is true.
