KBS drama special episodes review

Hi everyone haha!

Due to a lack of dramas that can entertain me a week, I tried watching kbs drama specials with my sister but it didnt turn out too well haha… Every week, I wait for While you were sleeping to be screened. But I remember that when I chased I hear your voice, the anticipation feeling was higher. Tried Borg Mum but after a certain episode when Go Bong becomes extremely worried that he has fallen in love with a robot and escapes from the problem, it didnt attract me anymore. Black is too crime related and involves too much details, though its creepiness and grim are attractive. Even if I do continue, it will be a quick browse through. Hospital Ship, to my sister, is too mature for her liking. I am still continuing it myself mainly to see Kang Min Hyuk haha and the romance between the lead couple, even though I am not entertained enough by the drama.

Kbs drama special episodes I watched in one night

What is the ghost up to? (2015)

Liked Lee Joon’s acting since seeing him in Gap Dong and Vampire Detective though I didnt finish both as they are crime related dramas that didnt quite suit my taste. In this one episode, his character is quite funny with his hilarious angry outbursts or his crazy screaming when he sees the ghost haha. His girlfriend broke up with him and her reason/criticism haunts him. Although he does well academically, he seems crippled by her remarks and cannot get a job or move on well in life…until… one day, she returns and wants him to find her boyfriend. He is angry but pities her and decides to help her which leads to a surprise revelation. Shall not give too much spoiler haha. Towards the end, I actually felt tears flowing out of my eyes even though I skipped through certain parts in between towards the end. At the first time I watched, I was hit hard due to the words she wrote in her notes and the second time I watched with my sister that night, it was at the final “pop goes the weasel” part.

You can watch it in Youtube.

Next, I decided to watch something that looks nice on the cover.

If we were a season (KBS Drama special 2017 Episode 1)

Like the title haha! The development of the relationship of the lead characters is well portrayed from young to their high school days and nights, showing how they play or pass messages through a window between their houses from young to how they naturally watch out for each other in school. The scenery and weather fit nicely with the plot and beautifies the story. It is a typical love triangle story but I liked the lead couple’s acting and chemistry. Liked Jang Dong-Yoon here more than in School 2017. Jin Young’s character has no place in between them haha. My sister is a fan of Jin Young but she says he looks out of place as he doesnt even look like a high schooler, like the rest of them haha. She feels that when he jokes with Chae Soo Bin’s character, it felt cold instead of cheesy. I was quite baffled by the family background story towards the end. When I reached the ending, I felt like shouting at the screen “No…Why?!” :/

Things seem to be going downhill.

Finally, my last episode of the night

Waltzing Alone (KBS Drama special 2017 Episode 4)

When I looked at the title, I should have been warned. But unfortunately, when I browsed through YouTube quickly, none of the pictures or plots of other drama special episodes attracted me so I thought I should give it a try. Maybe it will turn out to be a beautiful heartwarming story?

The story especially at the start is beautiful but unfortunately it wasnt heartwarming but heartbreaking. The lingering regrets and heartbreaks of the episode, especially when they had their final breakdown, was hard to get rid of haha. And when I am writing this, the feeling is coming back aaahhhh. Loved the dancing of waltz (something I want to learn one day haha) as the theme throughout the episode, especially at the start where the scenes showed how the lead couple danced through life together, depicted through the different attires and locations as they dance and dance and dance. (Yeo Hoi-Hyeon looks more and more good looking as the episode goes haha.) It is romantic and whenever they dance or are in the waltz footwork they seem blissful, shielded from the harsh reality of the world.

However, the reality of the competitive corporate life and the pressure to get a permanent job soon catch up with both of them as they are rejected by one company after another. When they had to compete for the same job position, it turns out to be a cruel battle which could have been resolved if they decide to have a fair competition. 😦

Lesson learnt:  Not going to have too much kbs drama special in one dose since it is bound to affect my mood. Maybe once a month haha? Wonder if all of them end up sad? Haha, but I think I will stay away from them for a while…  If you are looking for a so-called movie or want to borrow something’s help to cry and release stress or just want to feel “stabbed” or give yourself a reason to be sad, maybe you can try them.
