Korean Drama Review SMY

Myung Wol the Spy (2011) 间谍明月

Genre: Action, Romance, Comedy

Enjoyment: 8/10  Pace: 7/10  No. of times I watched it: 1

starring Han Ye Seul as Han Myung Wol and Eric as Kang Woo. Other casts: Lee Jin Wook as Choi Ryu and Jang Hee Jin as Joo In Ah.
Plot: An elite North Korean spy, Han Myung Wol, and her partner, Choi Ryu, infiltrates South Korea on a mission to disrupt the Hallyu Wave by kidnapping one of their top stars, Kang Woo. Despite her proficiency at her job, Myung Wol’s one weakness is her uncontrollable curiosity. Hijinks ensue when she falls in love with Kang Woo instead.

I don’t really understand why North Korea wants to disrupt Hallyu Wave. Haha. The interesting thing is the North Korea Army uses radio to communicate with spies in South Korea and army messages can be coded into normal phrases to prevent South Korean from getting any information. Liked the couple Choi Ryu and In Ah too which is unexpectedly formed. Wanted Choi Ryu to have a good ending (not saying the ending is bad).

Why you should watch: The starting was intriguing and there were many funny parts when Myung Wol tried to get close to Kang Woo using various methods under older spies help and guidance such as being his bodyguard, his fiancee and even a supporting actress.
